Many of us were taught to override our body’s signals at a young age. Or we learned early on that being in our body wasn’t safe.
We learned to say yes when we should have said no. To push when we should have rested. To stay when we should have left.
Eventually the wires between brain and body start to fray. There is persistent discomfort, but the source is hard to find. Many of us dissociate. Self-medicate. Struggle with fatigue, restless sleep, or a body that never quite feels settled.
Most of us live almost entirely above the neck, stuck in our thinking mind. We push through our days and rarely stop to ask what the body itself is saying or needs in any given moment. The body is always trying to speak to us, but many of us were never taught how to listen. And what most don’t realize is that the body speaks a different language than the mind, and when we stop listening, we lose the relationship.
This is why nervous system, body-based work matters. When the body feels attuned to, understood, and held with more gentleness, it works better. Digestion improves. Breath deepens. Sleep and recovery come easier. Many women notice their mental health shifts too.
We know the words. Deep breath. Ground yourself. Regulate your nervous system. But knowing the words and deeply feeling how these things help reconnect you to your body are different. Most women I work with can name their stress long before they can feel it in their body. Being able to feel it in your body is the beginning of healing.
We heal when we feel safe. A safe container to explore is what you will find here.
That’s what this workshop is for. The goal is not to feel calm all the time, but to learn what safety actually feels like in your body and to build the ability to move more easily between activation and regulation. Think of it less like a fix and more like muscle memory.
Nervous system work is the foundation of your health. You’ll leave with tools you can actually use when stress hits, not just ideas to think about later.
What we’ll cover
This is a foundational, hands-on workshop with real time to practice and interact, not just a seminar. You’ll leave with a better understanding of how to communicate with your body and real-life applications you can start using immediately:
- The basics of listening to your body and how to start recognizing what it’s already telling you
- A deeper understanding of the nervous system and its role in how you feel day to day
- Resourcing: simple ways to find steadiness and safety when things feel like too much
- Proprioception and interoception, the language your body uses to communicate, and how to start hearing it
- The different ways your body tends to respond to overstimulation and overactivation, so you can start recognizing your own pattern
- Simple, easy ways to weave this work into daily life, so it becomes part of your rhythm, not one more thing to do
Who this is for
- Women who override their body’s signals more often than they listen to them.
- Women who feel wired and tired at the same time.
- Women who’ve read the books and know the tools but can’t seem to access them when it counts.
- Women who are looking to support their bodies during transitions, healing from burnout, navigating perimenopause, moving through grief, or simply wanting to feel more at home in their own skin, no matter what season of life they’re in.
You don’t need any experience with somatic work. Just a willingness to show up and pay attention.
