Lately I’ve been noticing something. More and mor Lately I’ve been noticing something. More and more women seem to be longing for a different way of living. One that feels slower. More intentional. More connected. Not because we’re trying to escape modern life, but because we’re remembering that we are part of nature, not separate from it. I believe our bodies hold incredible wisdom when we learn to listen. That nature has a way of bringing us back to ourselves. That community isn’t a luxury. It’s something we need. And that building a home within ourselves changes the way we show up for everything else. Maybe that’s why so many of us are feeling called to spend more time outside. To nourish ourselves differently. To move our bodies with more compassion. To gather with other women. To create lives that feel as good on the inside as they look on the outside. I’ve been feeling that pull too. So instead of waiting until everything is perfectly planned, I’m beginning. I’m hosting my first gathering here in Santa Cruz. We’ll spend the morning connecting with nature, our bodies, and each other through an optional ocean plunge, a mindful walk, and conversation. Nothing fancy. I don’t believe most people need to be fixed. I b I don’t believe most people need to be fixed. I believe they need a safe place to come home to themselves. To slow down long enough to hear what their body has been trying to say. To reconnect with what truly matters. To nourish themselves with compassion instead of criticism. And to remember that health isn’t about perfection—it’s about building a life that feels grounded, connected, and aligned. What protected you as a child might be keeping you What protected you as a child might be keeping you stuck as an adult Many people don’t realize how much their childhood still lives in their body The constant scanning for danger Staying quiet to avoid outbursts Being easy so you don’t upset anyone Overachieving so someone notices your worth Taking care of others as the parentified child Normalizing chaos Pushing away emotions Not prioritizing your own wellbeing At some point, these made sense They helped you feel safe They helped you feel loved They helped you belong And your body learned… this is how we survive But the body doesn’t automatically update just because your life has changed So you might still find yourself overgiving when you’re exhausted overthinking when nothing is wrong bracing when you’re actually safe Not because something is wrong with you but because something once was This is why healing requires more than awareness and is often the root of so many physical and emotional symptoms You can understand your patterns and still feel stuck in them Because they live in the body Healing happens when you begin to create safety from within When you meet these patterns with compassion instead of trying to fix or fight them Because shame keeps the pattern alive but compassion creates space for change When you slow down enough to listen to what your body has been holding This is the work Inner child healing Somatic support Rebuilding trust with yourself Not forcing not pushing not bypassing But softening noticing and allowing your system to learn something new We are safe now, we don’t have to do this anymore. At 38, my body started to feel like it was breakin At 38, my body started to feel like it was breaking down. My anxiety and depression were getting worse. My sleep was wrecked. I was waking up drenched. My hips hurt constantly. My labs were shifting. Iron low. Cholesterol rising. Heavy cycles. Brain fog. Fatigue. So I chased each symptom separately. Different appointments.
