Taking advantage of the full moon energy to get back on my self-care and self-healing routines. Time to get back on it! I love waking up early to a quiet house and getting my alone and quiet time in. I’ll sit with my coffee and fill out my daily journal with my focus and priorities for the day, pick a daily affirmation and make my gratitude list. One of my favorite treats to myself is to take a little more time and transform my morning coffee into a super health boosting elixir by adding potent superfoods! Cinnamon and mushrooms have been my go to for a while and add the following health benefits to your morning cop of joe. My handy little frother to the left is a great way to mix the ingredients in and gives my coffee a yummy frothy topper. I add about1/2 tsp to 1 tsp of each to the frother with a little nut milk and a splash of coffee to warm it up then add to my cup of coffee after frothing. If I want to make it a little more sustaining, I’ll also add 1 tsp of coconut oil. Adding some healthy fats first thing in the morning is very beneficial to your body – don’t be scared of fat! Just be scared of the wrong types and with anything you can have too much of a good thing. Making sure you have adequate intake of healthy fats like coconut help with many health issues like weight management, blood pressure and high cholesterol. It has also been shown to helps reduce the side effects of chemotherapy, reduces inflammation and is a great source of energy for your body.
