Make your coffee healthy with cinnamon

Can’t kick coffee or don’t want to? Yeah, me either. I stopped drinking coffee for a year, then started drinking it again. I don’t have any intolerances to it and I just really love my morning ritual. I limit my daily intake to one cup. I don’t think it is bad for you if you pay attention to what you put into it and limit intake. I have ideas for your second cup cravings below.

What I make sure of is that my morning cup doesn’t add extra sugar into my diet and I look for ways to make it as healthy as possible. Lately I’ve been adding cinnamon. The health benefits of cinnamon are not to be ignored! If adding it to your coffee doesn’t sound good, try sneaking it into oatmeal, granola or yogurt. When you buy it make sure to get organic Ceylon cinnamon. I got mine on Amazon. Also, if you take daily it is good to take a week break after 6 weeks.

For creamer I use unsweetened hemp coconut milk. Any milk will do though. Just keep to unsweetened and organic nut, seed, soy or animal milk. It is also good to switch it up every so often so you don’t build up an intolerance.

Cinnamon Benefits (from Mercola):

  • Calms inflammation
  • Boosts brain function
  • Supports weight loss
  • Anti-cancer properties
  • Helps with ADHD symptoms
  • Provides Diabetes Support
  • Supports brain health

How do you prepare yours? Can you use water and just add a little nut milk like coffee? What brand coffee maker do you use?
